Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and what we don't do. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Who we are
Property Supermarket (propertysupermarket.co.uk) is responsible for the information described here. Contact us at hello@propertysupermarket.co.uk.
No tracking
We don't use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we don't load scripts, fonts, maps or images from other companies. Everything on our pages is served from our own server.
Cookies and browser storage
- Security cookie (
ps_sid): set when you view a page with a form or sign in to the admin area. It protects forms against forgery and keeps admin users signed in. It's deleted when you close your browser or after a period of inactivity. - Your basket: homes you save are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. We never receive this list. Clear it with the "Empty basket" button or your browser settings.
Messages and forms
When you send an enquiry about a property, request a valuation, register to list a property or use the contact form, we store what you type (your name, email address, optional phone number, message and any details you choose, such as a postcode) with the date and time. We also store a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address so we can limit how many messages can be sent from one connection; we can't turn it back into your IP address.
We use this information to respond to you. Property enquiries are passed to the agent or advertiser for that listing so they can reply. We keep messages for up to 24 months and then delete them, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint or legal claim. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering your request, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server keeps short-term technical logs (IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type) to keep the site secure and working. When you follow a link to another website through our /go/ links, we record the date, the link used and the page you came from — not who you are.
Other websites
Links to official services and other sites open those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@propertysupermarket.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
